notts-bound, again

i'm going to start this entry with a nighty night quote, because i remembered it last night and told it to lindz on the phone and it still made me laugh: "you know how i feel about asthma... take a deep breath and get over it". hee!
i'm down in notts at the moment, staying at my empty gran's house while she's away on holiday. the nice tram driver waited for me to get on at eccles before setting off to piccadilly, which i thought was fantastic of him. train journey was uneventful, i read for most of the way there, and mimed along to beastie boys when i got near nottingham, as it matched my good mood.
i went into town and met up with shaun, emma and kate. shaun has a beard, and a ponytail. i was quite shocked at this - it's also a much more successful beard than any of the ones that richard and guy have tried to grow. he really is a "ginger jesus" indeed. according to em it's who shaun gets all his fashion tips off... heh that made me laugh.
had the most fantastic time in town with them. it was so good seeing them, especially emma who i've missed so much. and brilliantly, once we started talking, everything was just how it had always been, no awkwardness or feelings of it being "different" at all. i only wish we'd get to see each other more often. she also bought me a jacket potato - cheese and sweetcorn, just one long edible orgasm - so i couldn't really ask for more. if you're reading this, em, love you lots and lots xx
seeing lindz tomorrow, which i'm really looking forward to. i've seen a top i like, so shall probably drag her down for a second opinion. haven't seen lindz since the funeral, hopefully this time it'll be a happier occassion. she rang last night and we had an excellent talk. we talked about how she sometimes felt a little insecure about our friendship, with me living so far away and at uni - she said that she just kept telling herself that our friendship will go on regardless of the distance, which is very true. also next year she'll be at salford uni (anarea of manchester i live very near to), which is fantastic news as it means i'll be able to see her on weekends home.
my gran's so amazing... she left me a note telling me where all the food was, so i have approximately 6 possible meals to choose from, and also left me �30 to cover my train fare plus a little more. in repayment i've started weeding her borders in the back garden for her, as some of them are in sore need of it.
why do they always show two sets of weather at the end of every news report? do i look like the kind of person who really likes the weather? if i was such a big fan i'd have already checked it on ceefax. twice. TAKE MICHAEL FISH AWAY GODDAMNIT.
lindz posted me my return of the king dvd last saturday and it didn't arrive this morning, so i couldn't bring it with me. this irritated me greatly, royal mail is a bag of wank.
on a plus side bad girls is on again tomorrow night. mmm bad girls, i do love you a great deal.
