Something about lego games
14.01.12, 6:36 pm

So because James is bogging off on Friday for skiing, I thought I'd buy myself a nice, happy PS3 game to play in the evenings and take my mind off burglars and axe-murderers, seeing as my current games scare me a little bit. Anyway, I decided on Harry Potter Lego, and decided that I wouldn't play it until the boy left. And that resolution obviously lasted approx. 7 minutes as it's UTTERLY amazing. Have spent a good portion of the day playing it, and I still have an itch to play it now. Sad-makingly though, I can't because James is watching Winter Wipeout or whatever it's called. Consequently I'm writing this entry instead.

I'm ecstatic it's the weekend, as the week's felt like an eternity. Spoke to Becky this morning, who's having a baby girl (squee!), and then did lots of boring cleaning. In the afternoon me and the boy went for a walk by the river, which was lovely. It's always lovely just hanging out with Bumble (I call James Bumble, I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before. I can't even remember where it first stemmed from, other than it's definitely not because he resembles Mr Bumble from Oliver Twist).

The meal with James's mum and assorted middle-aged friends went fine, although we talked solely about middle-aged, middle-class topics like recycling, volunteering and the sadness of health and safety regulations. James's mum then decided to liven things up again by telling the story of how she downloaded Breakfast at Tiffany's onto her Kindle, and read it every day on the train, and thought it was extremely steamy for a book written in the 1950s, until she suddenly discovered that she'd actually downloaded the pornographic version of the book. Which would have been fine, except she'd apparently managed to get through two thirds of it before suspecting something was amiss.

Steak night tonight with the boy, with lots of lovely wine. Nothing else is needed. At the risk of sounding totally mushy, and I know it's in part due to the fact that I'm a bit drunk, everything is so wonderful with James. He's so fantastic and makes me so happy; I really don't know what I'd do without him. Even if he does go about turning radiators off without telling anyone.

Finally, for anyone who knew John (theswordsman), I don't know if this is common knowledge but he died suddenly last August. I found out on Friday. It's really, really sad, and he was a lovely guy.
